The 2nd half of this season of Doctor Who was SO MUCH more enjoyable than the 1st.
It made me actually LIKE this show again.
Clara is actually a likable character, isn’t trying to be “clever” all the time and isn’t flirting with the Doctor in front of her husband.
Amy really irritated me. She had so much undue importance put around her without doing anything to back it up.
“The girl who waited”… HOW? By growing up? Kinda a given unless she died in-between. But they always mentioned it like she did something. Oh but she waited 1 night as a child for him. I don’t know who else in the show can beat ONE NIGHT of waiting. Maybe she should talk to Rory about a real wait.
Amy was also terrible to Rory. He waited all those years for her and then she continued to flirt with the Doctor and it’s like: LOL OH AMY!
Also Amy gave up on wanted her baby back because… they know she grows up? Again a given. Don’t get why that made them stop caring. Even if you want to say it’d screw too much up for them to try and get her back I don’t see any parents just accepting that so easily.
And maybe my favorite Amy moment: The night before her wedding Amy tried to force the Doctor to sleep with her. If the sexes were reversed this scene would be regarded much worse.
So that was my problem with Amy, she was put on a pedestal by the show while not ever doing anything to back it up, she was a self centered flirt who tried to make everything about herself.
Clara in half a season acted like a real person and was willing to do anything to save The Doctor.
